Laser Gum Surgery
LANAP is a non invasive treatment for gum regeneration. Traditional gum surgery utilizes scalpels and sutures (stitches) to cut away diseased or infected gum tissues, often time resulting in esthetic and exposed root surfaces. With LANAP, there is no loss of tissue. Since there is no “cutting or sewing”, patients can initially go straight back to work and continue their normal routine.
Depending on the severity of your gum disease, your whole mouth can be treated in only one visit, with little to no downtime.
Sometimes a dental implant can become infected despite or best efforts. LAPIP, which is a specific laser surgery treatment is able in many cases to treat the infections and arrest the disease, without a scalpel or stitches. In some cases, LAPIP can also regenerate new bone around the implant itself!
LAPIP — which stands for Laser Assisted Peri-Implant Procedure, and like LANAP which is done to treat gum infections around teeth, is the only FDA cleared laser procedure to treat ailing dental implants.
